Uwe Dierks (producer) and Thomas Grube (director/producer) have realized films since 1996. In 1999 they founded BOOMTOWN MEDIA in Berlin. The duo directed and produced numerous documentaries, international co-productions and music films, exploring the sources of human creation.

BOOMTOWN MEDIA's productions  RHYTHM IS IT! (2004) and TRIP TO ASIA (2008) are amongst Germany’s most successful cinema documentaries ever. Both premiered at the Berlin Film Festival before being distributed worldwide by BOOMTOWN MEDIA’s world sales arm BTMI Films, founded in 2004.

BOOMTOWN MEDIA's films received numerous national and international awards including a Bavarian Film Award, the German Film Award, the German Critics Prize, two times the German Cinema Guild Award, the German Cinematography Award and two times the ECHO Klassik next to several international honors.

The company’s team consists of producer and chief executive Uwe Dierks, producer/director Thomas Grube, project and label manager Christian Struck, line producer Marc Wächter, tax advisors and lawyers Irmela Schmidt and Heide Tietz (business and legal affairs) and office manager Julian Helms.
