Norbert Maass
Born in 1965 in Unterpfaffenhofen in Germany, Norbert Maass studies politics and history at the Friedrich-Alexander university in Erlangen-Nürnberg and 'production and media business' at the HFF (University of Film & Television) in Munich. As freelancer he works for the radio and writes critiques about Jazz, film and concerts for the Nuremburg daily paper.
In 1994 he starts working with ‘Medias Res’ in Munich. As a line producer he is responsible for the international cinema documentary film “Orson Welles: The One-Man Band”. He organizes the filming of the drama “Irrlichter” (Will o’ the Wisp) with Barbara Auer for Ventura Production.
1997 Norbert Maass first works as a producer for Primetime TV Filmproduktions Ltd / Completion Bond Consulting, then for Bavaria Media in Munich as a sales and project manager, where he was responsible for the international sales and distribution of films like “Run Lola Run”, “Comedian Harmonists”, “Beyond Silence”, “Bandits”, and “Rossini”.
From 1999 onwards he works for Senator Film; as their head of international sales in Los Angeles he is responsible for the international sale and distribution of films like “Boogeyman”, “Lords of Dogtown”, “Trapped”, “Nothing”, “XX/XY”, “The Experiment” and “Vaya con Dios”. Together with the writer Leon de Winter, he sets up the world distributor Amberlon Pictures Ltd. in London. They take on the international sale and distribution of films like “Enigma”, “The Hollywood Sign”, “Marlene”, “7 Days To Live”, “Aimée & Jaguar”, “Straight Shooter”, and “Home Game”.
Since 2005 Maass has been responsible for the international sales and distribution at BOOMTOWN MEDIA INTERNATIONAL and represents films like RHYTHM IS IT!, TRIP TO ASIA or TO FIGHT FOR.
